ADMShipyards unwraps Yas

By Timmy | December 15, 2011

Yas-1ADMShipyards recently launched Yas, a megayacht that has been known during development as Swift141. This yacht is expected to hit 26 knots while its name is for its LOA of 141 meters.

The Yas is actually a yacht conversion that took several years to complete. You can trace the roots of this megayacht back in 1998 from the 130-meter UAE Navy frigate acquired from the Dutch Royal Navy. After a few years of service , it was replaced with new ships but they were not scrapped since they were still structurally sound. The refit was ordered in 2007 by an owner in the Gulf who decided to use the hull of the ship for a speedy superyacht.

ADMShipyards initiated the conversion of Swift 141 or Yas in the same year. They commissioned Pierrejean Design Studio to give the boat a facelift . The Yas got a longer length but still had a sleek and lean hull plus its shape below water gave way for impressive speeds.

The Yas stands out from the rest because of its curves and a good dose of glasses implemented by the design team.

The superyacht can accommodate sixty people. It also has a tender garage for whatever toy you want to bring with you but the space also doubles as a swim platform. There is also the alfresco spa and swimming pool nearby. The crew will also have access to modern day equipment to aid navigation.
