Do you really require insurance for your Jet Ski?
By Timmy | October 27, 2008
As a boat owner you might have heard about Jet Ski Insurance and might have thought what is the use of insuring your boat. There have been no problems for quite some time and why should you waste valuable money by going in for an insurance policy. Is there any guarantee that there will be no accident while you are riding your boat and are you sure that your high speed boat might not malfunction, especially when you are riding in dangerous waters?
In case an accident does occur and the same causes you and the other occupants of the boat physical harm, are you prepared to foot the astronomical medical bills? Just think a bit and you will find out that it is far better to protect yourself and your boat with the proper insurance cover. When an accident does occur, a proper insurance cover makes all the difference between staying afloat or drowning in financial liabilities.

Palmer Johnson “Dragon” – A True Dream Yacht?
By Timmy | August 12, 2008
I got this e-mail by a Romanian idiot trying to sell me a Palmer Johnson’s Dragon. What in God’s name was he thinking? Not only do I not have the cash lying around I seriously wouldn’t buy it from someone trying to sell a couple million worth of yacht with a sales letter written by an infant, would I?
Oh well — for entertainment purposes:
One of the biggest dreams of many people today, is to have their own yacht. Although there are only few people, who can spend money for such a luxury, the yachts are bought every single day. Some customers are not very pretentious with this, even if they have money, while others want to have only the latest models on the market- even to collect them!
One of the last modern tendencies shows that one of the best brands of yachts is the “Dragon” of Palmer Johnoson. According to the collectors, for them, this is the true dream yacht! The design is just wonderful and impressive- outside and inside. This yacht turns into classic today.
The connoisseurs say that it can be accepted as a “Mona Lisa” of the yachts. This is the best yacht of Palmer Johnson. He had many other yachts shown at world competitions and shows- for instance his Waverunner in Monaco and Cannes. However, the Dragon is one of the most beautiful and comfortable yachts in the world today. With its fast speed, attractive colors shape and design, the Dragon is a yacht that many can only dream about, but it’s a real pleasure even if you can just see it!
It’s still a nice yacht though…

Ocean Breeze – Saddam’s Yacht
By Timmy | June 17, 2008
Missile-systems, secret mini-submarine for escape purposes, … this yacht just smells like Saddam!
The whole story of Iraq vs. Jordan King bla bla doesn’t really interest me too much, but I love that boat!

Bling Bling Yacht
By Timmy | May 31, 2008
I like it when yacht builders get creative. I like it when aftermarket customizers start working on a yacht to make it a little more… exclusive. I think all of these things are great and I embrace the whole modification-scene that’s been sprouting around the once elite-crowded yachting world. I’m a typical boat-lover. College graduate, corporate type, above average income, drive a Mercedes. But — I’m a modern one, as far as that’s possible driving a C-class.
Anyway, this one though is a bridge too far in my book. Jeezes christ why did they rape this speedboat?
“Twin 525 Scs – 348 hrs w/4-blade stainless steel props; Bravo I outdrives w/Mercury extension blocks; 3-axle trailer w/surge brakes, custom rims, new carpet & powder coat – 2006; Keikhaefer trim tabs; cockpit cover; 10-disc CD changer; AM/FM cassette stereo w/remote on helm; electric wind deflectors; halon; electric cabin door; electric hatch; engine room lights; electric bolsters; swim deck; heavy duty ski tow bar; removable cockpit carpet; ice box; cabin sink; v-berth; port-a-potty; pop-up cleats; (2) 90-gal fuel tanks; 91 octane gas.”
Thay forgot to mention gaylike paintjob. BAH! $44,995? HAHAHA!

Palmer Johnson opens Construction Facility in the UK
By Timmy | April 14, 2008
American Yacht manufacturer Palmer Johnson has decided to open a construction facility in the UK, bringing well over 500 jobs to the area. With their plans to build a a 20,000 square metre facility that will have the capacity to build vessels up to 100m long, Palmer Johnson is showing their belief in the future of luxury boating.
The first yachts should be sailing out of the UK facility somewhere in 2011 .
A Palmer spokesman said: “For a period of time, Palmer Johnson will be operating a twin location facility. Once the new factory is fully operational in Woolston the existing facility in Hythe could be used to increase production, or to manufacture new ranges. All options will be continually reviewed, in a fast evolving market.”

(this one’s a work in progress, I promise!

118 WallyPower High Speed Luxury Yacht
By Timmy | April 8, 2008
The 118 WallyPower is one of the most eye-catching yachts in today’s luxury boating market — you either hate it, or love it. There’s more to its aggressive look than just trying to make something that looks different, though. Wally Yachts did extensive testing in the SSPA facility in Gothenburg, Sweden and at Ferrari’s windtunnel in Italy.
Got $25M spare and want to be the fastest millionaire on the water? This one’s just right for yours!

Viking SanLorenzo 88′ Motor Yacht
By Timmy | April 3, 2008
Viking’s SanLorenzo branch (located in Italy and specialized in luxurious yachts like this one) has launched a new 88′-er, and Chuck Gnaegy has posted a pretty awesome review over at yachtforums.com, which I give full credit for the photos!

Anyway, a Viking with anything but a sports fishing focus and I’m digging it. Very lovely lines and sober yet classy interior (and deck) design that smells Italian — which is obviously a good thing.

More on Yachtforums.com & obviously www.SanLorenzoYacht.com

Dolce Far Niente, A True Dream Yacht
By Timmy | March 25, 2008
The DOLCE FAR NIENTE is a true Dream yacht indeed. Named one of America’s largest yachts in 2007, it’s one that is not only huge, but also extremely luxurious, and available for private charter! It’s valued at well over $10,000,000 after being renovated in 2006 — so this 193 feet long (and first built in 1957) J.K. Smit is out of most ordinary people’s budget — but for ‘only’ just over $200,000 you can actually get your hands on this one for a shorter time span, either in the Caribbeans or in Central America…
Obviously, I’ve got some AMAZING photos, thanks to fraseryachts.com.

Amazing, isn’t it?
